Embedded electronics refer to devices that can be ‘embedded’ into something. They are add-ons that increase the functionality of the device in which they have been integrated. Embedded electronics can do more and in the near future it can change the way people sell products and handle business.
Embedded Electronics Technology Applications in Business
The applications of embedded electronics technology in business are boundless. Embedded electronics devices are flexible enough to be applied on multi-national corporations or domestic business enterprises.
Automobile dealers, for example, use embedded electronics technology to forge mechanical systems that have additional electronics features; these features increase performance and reliability. They also make the automobiles safer and easier to handle. Ad-hoc sensors for plants and factories, on the other hand, are also being used to monitor temperature, humidity and other factors vital to business operations and to the safety of factory personnel as well as quality of output.
Inventory management also benefits from embedded electronics technology. Embedded electronics can be used to store information regarding every item’s serial and batch number, list price, suggested retail price, manufacturing company, address, date of manufacture, expiry date, etc. This could eliminate hundreds of millions of dollars spent on manpower and bar-coding devices.
Embedded electronics technology also has applications in quality control or supervision. It can be utilized to detect product defects such as the presence of molds. They can be used to measure and evaluate weight and size difference before they can be carried on to the next production phase or, worse, shipped to retail outlets.
